❗️ This is a Service Tech recommended step. ❗️
If a desk becomes unresponsive, check individual parts for function.
For ease of troubleshooting support the desk with a pair of sawhorses or flip desk over.
A | TEST PRIMARY (1A) LIFTING COLUMN, POWER, AND CONTROLLER
- Unplug the 6-pin Low-Voltage Cable from the Primary (1A) Lifting Column
- Lower the Lifting Column all the way down and synchronize the desk.
- Adjust the Lifting Column all the way up and down.
- Tip: If the leg adjusts through the full height range, the Primary (1A) Lifting Column, Controller, Power Supply and Power Cord are functional.
- If the Lifting Column does not move, inspect the 2-pin DC Power Cable for damaged pins. If any appear bent, use a thumb tack to correct.
- Tip: When inspecting cables, unplug the Power Cord from the outlet.
[6-pin shown]
- If the Lifting Column still does not move, replace the controller with a new Controller, and synchronize the desk.
- If the Lifting Column does not adjust, replace the Primary (1A) Lifting Column. After the Lifting Column is replaced, synchronize the desk.
B | TEST SECONDARY (1B) LIFTING COLUMN, LOW-VOLTAGE CABLE, AND CONTROLLER
- Unplug the 6-pin Low-Voltage Cable and Controller from the Primary (1A) Lifting Column.
- From the Maintenance Kit, HAMKT, select the Control Box and Power Cord.
- Plug the 6-pin Low-Voltage Cable from the Secondary (1B) Lifting Column into port 1 on the Control Box.
- Plug the Controller and Power Cord into the Control Box.
- Lower the Lifting Column all the way down and synchronize the desk.
- Adjust the Lifting Column all the way up and down.
- Tip: If the leg adjusts through the full height range, the Secondary (1B) Lifting Column and Controller are functional.
- If the Lifting Column does not move, inspect the Low-Voltage Cable for damaged pins. If any appear bent, use a thumb tack to correct.
- Tip: When inspecting cables, unplug the Power Cord from the outlet.
- If the Lifting Column still does not move, replace the 6-pin cable with a new Low-Voltage Cable, and synchronize the desk.
- If the Lifting Column does not adjust, replace the Secondary (1B) Lifting Column. After the Lifting Column is replaced, synchronize the desk.
